Our Volunteers are just as committed to the mission of the Alliance on Aging as our paid staff members are. They contribute their time, energy, talent, and compassion to the clients whom, together we serve.
You can join the AOA Volunteer Corps of over 200 individuals who choose everyday to make a difference in the lives of older adults.

Volunteer to Safeguard the Rights of Vulnerable Elders
We are now accepting applications for our annual training program to become a Volunteer Ombudsman in Salinas.
What IS an Ombudsman? OM-BUDS-MAN is a Swedish word, describing an independent, neutral, objective person who explores problems and seeks solutions. As a Certified Ombudsman, you will receive training to prepare you for regular visits to residents of long term care facilites and assist in resolving problems related to quality office and personal safety.

Expand Your Knowledge of Medicare While Helping Others
Our Medicare Counseling Program is currently looking for Volunteer Counselors. Not only will you be able to help others understand their benefits and options, but you’ll also expand your knowledge of Medicare related insurances at the same time! Training and manuals will be provided. Problem solving and computer skills are desired.
